CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — The Charlottetown Fire Department responded to 55 emergency calls in the month of December, down slightly from 60 calls in November.
Station 1 on Kent Street handled 29 of those calls with five calls for EMS mutual aid, four cooking fires, two calls where someone reported smoke in the building and three motor vehicle accident/fires.
Fire fighters also handled calls for the smell of propane, carbon monoxide alarm ringing, a garbage can fire and anapartment fire.
Station 2 in Sherwood dealt with five motor vehicle accidents in December, as well as four cooking fires, three calls for EMS mutual aid, someone who reported the smell of burning plastic and an outside fire.
