CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — Coun. Mitchell Tweel wants to beef up security in Victoria Park in Charlottetown.

Right now, foot patrols are conducted four days a week, from Thursday to Sunday evening.

Tweel would like to see security coverage seven days a week, providing consistent enforcement within the park with regard to the smoking bylaw and dogs off leash, as well as to help out with enforcement of proper use of the cycling lane (walkers prohibited, for example).

The matter will go to the finance committee for consideration as additional money would be required for the increased coverage.
