CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — The City of Charlottetown will host the annual Mayor’s Newcomer Welcome Reception on Wednesday, Sept. 18 from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at city hall, 199 Queen St.

Any newcomers who live or work in Charlottetown are invited to attend this free event.

The reception provides an opportunity for newcomers to meet the mayor and council members in a comfortable, informal setting.

During the reception, attendees will have the opportunity to tour city hall.

Charlottetown Newcomer Ambassadors will be at the reception as volunteer peer supports to help break down any potential language barriers and ensure the event is welcoming and comfortable for people of all different nationalities and cultures.

In addition to the reception, two newcomer orientation sessions are planned for later in the fall.
