CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — The City of Charlottetown plans to overhaul the lighting system at City Diamond.
Council recently passed a resolution to pay Hansen Electric Ltd. $356,000 to replace light poles and fixtures and pay Richardson Associates (1993) $5,520 for engineering and professional fees.
The expenditures includes partnership funding from the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program (ICIP) in the amount of $241,989.
The scope of the work includes removing the old lighting system, installing new poles, upgrading the wiring, installing new LED light fixtures and a new control panel. The field is being realigned to meet current standards and requirements for peewee and bantam play. The new lights will provide a higher quality field and the electrical costs will be reduced by 50 per cent.
