A P.E.I. man facing charges after a standoff with Charlottetown police had his case adjourned Wednesday because a mental health assessment report wasn’t ready yet.
Ronald Douglas Gay, 44, is in custody and was not present when his case was called before Judge Jeff Lantz in provincial court in Charlottetown.
Defence lawyer Alex Dalton told the court she received an update that she would have the report by the end of the week.
Gay is facing charges of possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose, pointing a firearm, mischief and uttering threats.
Charlottetown police arrested Gay after a standoff outside a building on Upper Hillsborough Street on Aug. 21.
Last month, Lantz ordered a mental health assessment and the court heard it would be completed by teleconference.
After hearing the latest update, Lantz adjourned the matter until Oct. 30.
