A young family has been displaced by a house fire in St. Peters Bay, about 50 kilometres northeast of Charlottetown.

The couple and their 15-month-old son are staying with a relative for now and are being helped by Canadian Red Cross volunteers with emergency purchases like clothing, food, baby-care needs and other basics.

The fire on Fortune Road was reported on May 14 at about 1 p.m.

The family was not home at the time, so there were no injuries sustained.
