CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — A camera that automatically ran a licence plate cost a P.E.I. man $200 after it found the plate was stolen.
Dean Joseph Paquet, 35, recently appeared before Judge John Douglas in provincial court in Charlottetown where he pleaded guilty to possessing stolen property.
Crown attorney Lisa Goulden told the court that on June 6, Paquet drove by a mounted camera that checked the licence plate on his vehicle and found the plate was stolen.
Douglas fined Paquet $200.
