TYNE VALLEY, P.E.I. — A 52-year-old Birch Hill man was charged with driving while suspended and refusing to give a blood sample to RCMP after a motor-vehicle accident.

On Friday, Oct. 23, around 6 p.m., the man was extracted from his vehicle by the Tyne Valley Fire Department after a rollover collision on Route 12 near Tyne Valley.

The man involved suffered non-life-threatening injuries. As a result of the police investigation, a blood demand was made, which he refused.

The man will appear in court at a later date

Prince District RCMP will continue to focus heavily on impaired drivers in the coming months.

Police are requesting that the public contact their local police agency or P.E.I. Crime Stoppers if they have any information on persons driving while impaired in their area.
