Editor’s Note: A total of 85 occurrences were investigated by Prince District RCMP between May 6 and 12. The following is a list of some of the noteworthy incidents and investigations:  

 Speeding vehicles in Borden-Carleton  

On May 6 at about 10 a.m., East Prince RCMP received a call from the Bordon-Carleton town office regarding multiple complaints they received about speeding vehicles on Dickie Road. RCMP patrolled the area and completed radar enforcement.  

Man arrested for drinking and driving a lawn tractor 

On May 7 at about 6:30 p.m., East Prince RCMP received a call about an intoxicated man driving a lawn tractor in Alberton. RCMP responded to the call and the 72-year-old suspect admitted to drinking but failed to provide a breath sample. The man was arrested and released. He will appear in court at a later date. He was also issued a 90-day driving prohibition.  

Fuel theft in Richmond  

On May 8 at about 2 p.m., East Prince RCMP received a complaint of fuel theft from the Richmond Esso. The suspect was driving a black extended cab truck, possibly a Chevrolet Silverado.  

Fuel theft in Wellington  

On May 9 at about 2:30 p.m., East Prince RCMP received a complaint of fuel theft from the Wellington Esso. The vehicle was a black Chevrolet Silverado with a steel fuel storage tank in the back and fish decals in the back window. License plate attached 668QJ was flagged as stolen. The Driver was a mand and had two or three other male passengers.  

RCMP investigating alleged assault  

On May 10 at about 4:30 p.m., East Prince RCMP received a complaint of an assault that occurred at P.E.I. Aqua Farms. A 50-year-old man allegedly assaulted 44-year-old woman. The incident is still under investigation.  

Van taken  

On Mat 11, East Prince RCMP received a call of a company van that had been taken from Crystal Beach Campground. The vehicle was later located, stuck in the mud near the park gate. The van had been moved between 5 p.m. on May 10 and 8:30 a.m. on May 11. No damage was noted and nothing else appeared to be missing or taken from the park. The van was towed to the East Prince Detachment for processing. The investigation is ongoing.  

Alleged assault in Union Corner investigated  

On May 12 at about 3:30 p.m., East Prince RCMP received a call about an assault that took place in Union Corner. A 74-year-old man reported that two teenagers threw him to the ground. The subjects of the complaint were unknown to the victim.  

RCMP respond to speeding call  

On May 12 at about 6:50 p.m., East Prince RCMP received a complaint of a driver speeding and passing vehicles on a double solid line in Miscouche. RCMP patrolled the area the vehicle was located on Route 2 near Mill River East Road. The driver had a suspended license and no vehicle registration papers. The driver was issued a ticket for driving while license was suspended, the vehicle was towed, and the plate was returned to the Department of Motor Vehicles.
