CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — The city’s public works department recently reviewed a request to include private schools as part of the school zone signage practice.
There is only one catch — any school considered for signage has to have street frontage.
If a private school school meets this requirement, it would be eligible for school zone signage and street marking.
The committee agreed to the recommendation that all schools (kindergarten to Grade 12), including private and public schools, that have street frontage, receive the same school zone signage to indicate the beginning and end of a school zone and the associated street marketing and to develop a school zone signage policy for council’s approval.
