17-year-old West Prince male dead after single-vehicle collision in Huntley

HUNTLEY, P.E.I. — A 17-year-old male from the West Prince area died after his vehicle left the roadway early Sunday morning. 

The victim’s name has not been released, but his family has been notified. 

The accident occurred on the Souwest Road in Huntley at about 3 a.m.

Someone passing by the scene phoned the accident in and the RCMP arrived shortly after. When they arrived, paramedics had already taken the victim to Prince County Hospital, said Cpl. Andy Cook with East Prince RCMP. 

He died as a result of his injuries a few hours later. 

The cause of the accident has yet to be determined and remains under investigation by the RCMP.
