CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — A 48-year-old man was sentenced to 10 days in jail for failing the breath test.

Donald Craig Gallant will serve his sentence on weekends.

Gallant pleaded guilty to the charge in provincial court.

Gallant lost control of his vehicle in Cymbria on Jan. 22 on an icy stretch of road.

The judged noted Gallant’s blood alcohol reading was below an aggravating factor.

Gallant was fined $1,000 and is prohibited from driving for one year following completion of his jail sentence.
