Funeral to be held Feb. 11 for victim of Charlottetown homicide Cody MacLean

CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — The funeral will be held Monday for Cody Robert MacLean, who was fatally wounded during a fight in Charlottetown on Feb. 5.

MacLean, 24, of North Wiltshire died of his injuries after he was allegedly stabbed during the fight on Spring Street early that morning.

According to his death notice, MacLean is survived by his mother, Heidi MacKinnon (Norman Doucette), son Lennon, brothers Kyle Bjorndahl-Sleigh, Mitchell MacLean and Dylan MacLean and his grandmother, Kathy Vandergag (Bernie).

He was predeceased by his father, J. Gary MacLean, and by his grandfather, Roddie MacKinnon.

A GoFundMe campaign has been set up to help the family of MacLean, who was a first-year marketing and advertising management student at Holland College’s Tourism and Culinary Centre campus in Charlottetown.

His funeral will be held from Belvedere Funeral Home on Monday at 10:30 a.m. The family has asked for memorial donations to be made to Lennon Recovery House or the Lennon MacLean trust fund.
