Winter refuses to release its snowy grip on Prince Edward Island and Environment Canada has issued a blowing snow advisory for the entire province.
The advisory says that poor visibility in snow and blowing snow is expected or occurring in some locations and reduced visibilities in blowing snow will begin this evening.
Strong north easterly winds combined with periods of snow will give reduced visibilities, especially in onshore winds. Conditions should deteriorate by this evening and persist into Sunday morning.
Environment Canada says travel is expected to be hazardous due to reduced visibility in some locations.
Blowing snow advisories are issued when winds are expected to create blowing snow giving poor visibility to 800 metres or less for at least 3 hours.
