GEORGETOWN, P.E.I. - A P.E.I. woman who was caught at a police checkstop was sentenced Thursday to three days in jail for failing the breathalyzer.

Pamela Ann Peters, 40, appeared before Chief Judge Nancy Orr in provincial court in Georgetown where she entered a guilty plea.

The court heard that on July 22 the RCMP arrested Peters after she pulled up to a checkstop in Bridgetown.

She later provided breathalyzer samples that were above the legal limit.

Peters told the court she made a really bad judgment call.

Along with the jail time, Peters must pay a $1,000 fine and a $300 victim surcharge.

She is banned from driving for one year.
