The infrastructure and assets management manager, along with the city’s deputy CAO, completed an eight-part online professional certificate in asset management planning in June.
Final project submissions were reviewed and both city staff members were confirmed during the summer as graduates of the courses.
The online course provided temporary access to a software platform which analyzes various asset registers along with current condition and funding information to project future costs and the decline/maintaining/improvement of a particular asset class or service.
The city will ultimately have to select, or possibly develop, such an analysis tool.
