CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. - Greg Rivard will be returning to Charlottetown council after no candidates came forward to run against him.

As the only candidate after the Friday deadline it means Rivard wins his Ward 7 seat by acclamation.

Rivard, who was first elected to council in 2014, is the only incumbent who is unopposed this election.

Rivard served as chairman of the planning and heritage committees during his first term in office and has lived in the Ward 7 since 2006.
