There will be a cannabis expo in Charlottetown in April although there aren’t many details yet.

Event organizer Shaman Ferraro recently made a presentation to the city’s economic development, tourism, arts and culture committee.

The expo is intended to increase awareness and education for Islanders around the regulations of legalized cannabis.

A location for the expo and a date are expected to be released in the near future.

The city has also won hosting rights to the 2020 Canadian Urban Forestry Conference.

Past host municipalities have contributed up to $25,000 depending on the number of registrants and the ability to generate sponsorship.
