CORNER BROOK, N.L. — Western Health will begin vaccinating seniors age 85 and up in the western region next week.

The health authority will hold vaccination clinics in Port Saunders, Norris Point, Deer Lake, Corner Brook, Stephenville, Port aux Basques and Burgeo.

The health authority said Friday locations in additional communities will be available as the vaccine rollout continues.

Vaccination will be by appointment only for people who have pre-registered to receive the vaccine. Those who have pre-registered will be contacted to set up their appointment.

If a person is unable to travel to the location offered for the vaccination, they may choose to wait until a clinic is available closer to their home.

It is anticipated that COVID-19 vaccination clinics will be held in all of the communities where annual flu vaccination clinics are offered by the end of April. A schedule for these communities will be developed in the near future.
