CORNER BROOK, N.L. — The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary arrested a 53-year-old woman for failing to self-isolate, Thursday morning in Corner Brook.

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary has confirmed that the accused is the same woman arrested, charged and later released for allegedly failing to abide by self-isolation rules related to COVID-19 earlier this week.

After receiving a complaint that the individual was not staying indoors and away from other people, in contravention of a Special Measures Order under the Public Health Protection and Promotion Act,  police located the woman walking up the street in the area of Woodbine Ave in the Curling district.

She was arrested without incident and is now being held at the Corner Brook Detention Centre.

The accused has been charged with failing to abide by the act and two counts of breaching the conditions of her release.
