One woman was sent to hospital after being struck by a pickup in St. John’s Saturday night.

The collision happened at the intersection of Mundy Pond Road and Ropewalk Lane at about 6:30 p.m.

She was conscious and talking to first responders as she was being treated and placed on a stretcher.

Her injuries were not thought to be life-threatening.

The intersection was closed for about an hour to facilitate the investigation by the RNC.

Nearly an hour before that crash, firefighters responded to another collision involving a single vehicle hitting and cracking off two utility poles.

That incident happened on Blackmarsh Road near Campbell Avenue and caused extensive damage to the vehicle.

The female driver was checked on scene by paramedics but did not require hospitalization.

Newfoundland Power was called into to do repairs to the broken poles but power was not affected in the area.

The RNC is also investigating that incident.
