There is one active COVID-19 case remaining in Nova Scotia as of Wednesday, the province said in its daily update.

Nova Scotia Health Authority’s labs conducted 902 tests on Tuesday, with none positive. It's been nine days since the province last idenified a positive case.

To date, Nova Scotia has 1,086 positive COVID-19 cases, 84,747 negative test results, and 65 deaths.

On Tuesday, the health authority announced it will be easing visitation restrictions in hospitals as of Thursday, Sept. 17. The new changes will allow inpatients two support people or family members to visit at the same time without booking an appointment. Patients coming to the hospital for an appointment or procedure will be allowed one person to accompany them. Everyone is expected to follow public health measures, such as physical distancing, hand hygiene, and mask wearing at all times.
