Aircraft, a Canadian Coast Guard vessel and ground searchers are continuing to look for one person after a canoe overturned near Morris Island in Yarmouth County on Tuesday.
One other person died after the incident Tuesday.
Lieut.-Commander Brian Owens with the Halifax Joint Rescue Coordindation Centre said Wednesday morning that the water has been relatively calm as a helicopter and plane from 14 Wing Greenwood and a private aircraft search the area of the Atlantic coast around Morris Island. The island is among other islands between Wedgeport and Argyle.
RCMP were initially called Tuesday shotrly after noon by someone who found a woman's body on the shore of Morris Island, Sgt. Andrew Joyce said. Once police identified the woman they were able to determine that she had been in a canoe with man going to another island.
At 1424 AST, JRCC Halifax received a call from NS RCMP indicating that there was a missing person in the water in vicinity of Morris Island. A second person was found deceased along the shoreline and is connected to the missing person.

A CH-149 Cormorant helicopter, a CH-130 Hercules aircraft from 14 Wing Greenwood, the CGGS Clarks Harbour, a Provincnial Airlines aircraft, RCMP and ground search and rescue have been involved in the search.
