Police are investigating an attempted robbery at a bank in Dartmouth on Friday.

Halifax Regional Police say two males entered the Royal Bank of Canada branch on Tacoma Drive just before 5 p.m. and demanded money, indicating they had a firearm.

The culprits left on foot without getting any money, police said, and were last seen running in the direction of the nearby Sobeys store.

No weapons were seen and nobody was injured in the incident, police said.

A 5:45 p.m. news release said police were searching for the suspects,who were described as wearing sunglasses, dark masks, dark hoodies and dark pants. One of them was carrying a red GoodLife Fitness bag.

Anyone with information about the attempted robbery is asked to call police at 902-490-5020 or submit an anonymous tip to Nova Scotia Crime Stopp
