There were no injuries to people, but a moose-vehicle collision near Mount Pearl caused significant damage to a car late Wednesday night.

The collision happened at about 11 p.m. on the ramp from Pitts Memorial Drive westbound to the T.C.H. eastbound close to Donovan’s Industrial Park

The moose ran into the woods near the industrial area.

Firefighters were seen walking through some tall grass in an effort to locate the animal.

Traffic was slowed on the ramp, but was able to pass the collision scene.
