Nova Scotia reported that one new case of COVID-19 was identified Monday, which was travel-related.

The person has been self-isolating since their return to the province, the Health Department said in a news release.

"While we've made great progress in reducing the transmission of COVID-19, the reality is Nova Scotia will see more cases," said Premier Stephen McNeil in the release.

"I ask everyone to continue doing everything they can to keep COVID-19 at bay by respecting the rules and following public health advice."

The QEII Health Sciences Centre's microbiology lab completed 203 Nova Scotia tests on Monday, the Health Department said in a news release.

Before today's case, the last positive case was reported June 9.

To date, Nova Scotia has 53,544 negative test results, 1,062 positive COVID-19 cases, 63 deaths and one active COVID-19 case.

Of the 63 deaths provincewide, 53 have occurred at Northwood nursing home in Halifax. The Nova Scotia government planned to announce details of a review into the Northwood situation on Tuesday.

The province continues to urge anyone with possible COVID-19 symptoms to go to https://811.novascotia.ca/. Nova Scotians should also be wearing a non-medical mask when social distancing isn't possible, such as grocery shopping, public health officials have said. As well, regular hand-washing, cough etiquette and other COVID-19 prevention measures are recommended.
