Arrest warrant issued in connection to child pornography investigation

SYDNEY, N.S. —

An arrest warrant has been issued in connection to a recent child pornography investigation by the Internet Child Exploitation Unit.

Cape Breton Regional Police are seeking the public’s assistance in locating 31-year-old Andrew Alfred Giasson. The warrant was issued on Tuesday.

Information led police to a residence in Howie Centre in June where investigators executed a search warrant, seizing computer and mobile devices.

After analysis and investigation, Giasson is charged with possession of child pornography, accessing child pornography, and distributing child pornography.

Anyone with information on Giasson’s whereabouts is asked to contact Cape Breton Regional Police at 902-563-5151, the police agency in your local area, or anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
