A report compiling public feedback given during consultations on opening up P.E.I.’s adoption records is expected to be released this summer.
In the legislature Wednesday, Family and Human Services Minister Tina Mundy said an advisory committee was now compiling feedback from public and private meetings with stakeholders from "all three sides of the issue" into a report.
"We are looking at, hopefully, rolling that out sometime this summer," said Mundy.
Mundy said public attitudes around adoption are changing and that she is hearing everyday about Islanders who are interested in having those records opened.
However, she also said she was cognizant of the sensitivity around the issue and that she was committed to hearing from all sides.
