Circle this Saturday on the calendar, especially those who love to dance.
From 8-11 p.m., Phase II and Friends will be providing dance music for a fundraising event for the Kings Playhouse in Georgetown.
"The band is really up for this," says Gerry Hickey, spokesman for the group.
"The playhouse is a wonderful venue which has hosted some great entertainers over a period of many years. We're happy to have the opportunity to play there and to help support the playhouse at the same time. I'm sure we'll see many familiar faces who attended our shows on the Georgetown waterfront the last two summers."
Phase II and Friends consists of the long-running rock ’n' roll band with the addition of Keila Glydon and Jeanie Campbell.
"The girls add a whole new dimension to the band,” says Hickey. "We've always been proud of the diversity of our music, but now our repertoire is broader still."
The band is well known for its high energy and lively dance tunes, which cover music from the 1950s right up to today with songs by Elvis, Neil Sedaka, Connie Francis, Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Beatles, the Dave Clark Five, Bob Seger, John Mellenkamp, Abba, Johnie Reid, Joel Plaskett and Ed Sheeran.
In addition to dance music, this event will feature a cash bar, a raffle, door prizes and a 50/50 draw..
Tickets are $12 each and are available at the playhouse.
