Beat the Winter Blues with SoPA tonight in Charlottetown

CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. —

Faculty from Holland College’s School of Performing Arts (SoPA) music performance program will help people Beat the Winter Blues with a fundraising concert this evening in the Florence Simmons Performance Hall in Charlottetown.

The concert is an initiative of the music performance faculty to raise funds for the program. Faculty members performing include Adam Hill, Alan Dowling, Alan White, Chad Deagle, Craig Dodge, Deryl Gallant, Gormlaith Maynes, Hannah O’Donnell, Jacqueline Sorensen Young, John Connolly, Kinley Dowling, Liam Corcoran, Maria Campbell, Nick Doneff, Nikki Waite, Philippe LeBlanc, Sara Campbell and Sean Ferris.

The first concert the music performance instructors held in 2017 was a resounding success, and the instructors are looking forward to joining forces one the stage again for this event.

Students in the music performance program will entertain guests during a silent auction held in the lounge of the performance hall prior to the show. The silent auction and student pre-show entertainment will start at 6:30 p.m., and the concert will start at 7:30 p.m.

A bar and concession services will be available. Tickets are $20 and may be purchased in advance at the Florence Simmons Performance Hall Box Office and from the performers themselves.
