An evening of food with David Pendergast and music with Janet McGarry and Wildwood is planned for Thursday, July 19 as part of the Acadian Days Festival at The Farmers’ Bank of Rustico and Doucet House Museums.
From 5:30 p.m. to 7:15 p.m., chef Pendergast will prepare traditional Acadian food at the outdoor clay bake oven.
He will also entertain the audience with stories and music while he bakes. Pre-registration is requested. This event will be happening rain or shine.
The soirée will begin at 7:30 p.m. with Janet McGarry and Wildwood.
is a five-time winner of the female vocalist of the year, earning her a masters at the Eastern Canadian Bluegrass Music Awards, and she is also a daughter of bluegrass. Her most recent CD is titled “Forever is the Love”, released in July of 2017.
will share the stage with her husband, Serge Bernard. Their unique vocals make them crowd favourites wherever they appear.
McGarry is joined by the members of Wildwood who, this pass October, picked up an award for gospel performance of the year at the Eastern Canadian Bluegrass Awards. Their lively, family-friendly shows feature bluegrass, gospel and country music.
Each of these musicians is wonderfully talented and there’s lots of variety as they all take turns at the microphone.
The Museums are located at 2188 Church Rd., Route 243 off Route 6, in Rustico. The Farmers’ Bank of Rustico Museum is wheelchair accessible and air-conditioned.
