The Wheatley River Band will be the special guests at the Bonshaw Ceilidh on Sunday, April 29, 2-4 p.m.

Made up of Allen Boland on mandolin, dobro and vocals, Ann Hay on bass and vocals and David Tingley on guitar and vocals, the Wheatley River Band is well known on P.E.I.’s Bluegrass scene.

They’ve been playing as a group for over 10 years and enjoy playing the old traditional bluegrass.

The ceilidh concert at the Bonshaw Hall will also feature singer and pianist Amie Picketts, fiddler Nathan Simmonds with pianist Joseph Simmonds and cellist Abigail Simmonds, plus regulars Herb MacDonald, Andrea Corder, Phil Pineau and Tony the Troubador.

There will be a 50/50 draw, cookies and tea, and open stage time. Admission is by donation with proceeds going to the Prince Edward Island 4-H Trust.

The P.E.I. 4-H Trust was established in 1987 to provide additional funds for programs and services for the benefit of the 4-H movement, its members and leaders. Since 1987, the P.E.I. 4-H Trust has provided in excess of $70,000 in grants to 4-H Clubs, districts and other initiatives.

All ages are welcome at the ceilidh and the hall is accessible for small wheelchairs. For more information, phone Tony Reddin at 902-675-4093 or check the facebook page at
