Beyond the tire swing
A Brooklyn, Hants County, N.S., man has come up with tire swings for adults, as well as tire chairs, planters and works of art.
Santos Treminio, originally from Nicaragua, told SaltWire's Carole Morris-Underhill (with some help from his partner in translating from Spanish) how he has spent the last six months taking old tires from trash to function, even beauty.
Meet Treminio and see more of his work.
Help solve mysteries
Not knowing where a missing loved one is, or what happened to them, is a heavy weight to carry.
The Telegram's Juanita Mercer looked into five recent missing persons' cases in Newfoundland and Labrador and outlines what you can do to help bring their families closure.
"With people likely travelling more at home this summer, family and friends of some missing people hope it will help to find their loved ones," Mercer writes.
“Keep your eyes and ears open,” begged one missing woman's mother.
People are asked to keep an eye out for certain belongings these men and women may have had with them when they went missing.
Bubbling across borders
In other news, it's finally bubble day! The provincial border entry points were full of stories of waits and reunions. Here's a snapshot.
Fuel, ski hill mogul passes away
David Kerr Wilson recently concluded 91 years of life and left a legacy of businesses that were left stronger than when he assumed or founded them.
He played a big part of Ski Wentworth's transition from a ski club to a full enterprise. He's also a "Wilson Fuel Co." Wilson and left the company as a thriving multi-division enterprise before founding another business.
He's also remembered as a guy with "a gregarious laugh and back slapping hugs" who remained a proud Truro resident throughout his life.
There's lots more to learn about David ‘Call me Dave’ Kerr Wilson here.
