CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — Phase II and Friends will be joined by Kim Albert and Dino Dunsford for an evening of rocking dance music at the Murphy Community Centre on Saturday, Nov. 16.
Phase II and Friends will kick off the dance at 8 p.m. They will be followed by Kim Albert who will do a mix of rock ’n’ roll and country tunes, backed up by Phase II musicians.
Dunsford will be the next to take the stage. He’ll be singing some favourite dance tunes from the broad repertoire he has built over the years.
Phase II musicians Blaine Murphy, John McGarry Pat King and Ed Young have all played with both Dunsford and Albert on previous occasions and look forward to Saturday night's dance.
Keila Glydon and Jeanie Campbell of Phase II and Friends will do backup vocals for both Albert and Dunsford.
In keeping with the theme of Christmas, there will be a Christmas singalong where those who like to sing can gather near a piano and sing along to some traditional Christmas tunes.
The Murphy Centre will be decorated for the occasion, and the licensed bar will be available throughout the night.
A special feature of the evening will be a 50/50 draw in aid of Special Olympics.
It should be a great night of gathering, mingling, singing and dancing to some of the best music available on P.E.I., says Gerry Hickey, front man.
“For those who remember Jingle Bell Rock and Old-Fashioned Christmas, this event will borrow a little from each.”
