SYDNEY, N.S. — Peter Mombourquette worked on setting up his outdoor Christmas display on Monday with the help of his "elf" Ray Oake.

Mombourquette and his wife, Anne, have been collecting items for their light up display since their children were young. Now their oldest is 45 and the Mombourquette's display takes three to four weeks to set up, along the front and sides of their Sydney home.

"I love doing it," said Mombourquette. "I do it for my grandchildren and also for the people who lives across the street, in the Cove (long-term care facility.)"

The display is set up on the side of their home so people can walk through and take pictures at different spots, the family's way of helping spread Christmas cheer.
