Snow begone as Cape Breton residents continue to dig out from weekend storm

The white stuff was flying when Norm Fraser unleashed his snowblower on the remains of a large mound of snow that a plow left across the driveway of his parents' house on Union Street in Sydney. Fraser was just one of many area residents forced to dig out after Cape Breton's first major storm of 2021 dropped more than 32 cm of snow across Cape Breton Regional Municipality. The storm also resulted in thousands of power outages due to downed lines caused by the wet and heavy snow, high winds and ice. DAVID JALA/CAPE BRETON POST
