One of Canada’s top songwriters, Chantal Kreviazuk, is the headliner for a special Spotlight for Mental Health online fundraiser for the Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia.

The Saturday, Nov. 28 event is part of the foundation’s annual Festival of Trees fundraiser, which has become a multi-day event beyond its original and ongoing display and auction of one-of-a-kind designer Christmas trees. In light of COVID-19 health protocols, this year the event will combine in-person and online activities that allow for physical distancing, with numerous opportunities to participate.

Running from Nov. 14 to 28, the 29th Festival of Trees will include the Forest of Trees display at the Doyle in downtown Halifax; the Resto Festo, with a number of participating restaurants donating a portion of their sales on designated days between Nov. 21 and 28, and the closing night online gala with Kreviazuk performing from her extensive catalogue of songs.

Tickets for the streaming concert event go on sale on Monday at 10 a.m., and can be combined with unique add-ons like snack boxes, a catered dinner with wine pairings and more.

Since it was created in 1986, the Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia’s Festival of Trees has raised more than $6 million in support of Nova Scotians living with mental illness and addiction.
