The weather may be starting to cool down but from new television shows to new babies to Macauley Culkin tweets, Hollywood is heating up.

On Aug. 26, Macaulay Culkin tweeted, “Hey guys, wanna feel old? I’m 40. You’re welcome.” And now we have no choice but to start taking collagen supplements and adding in a seven-step nightly skincare regime. Home Alone came out 30 years ago. All of a sudden, my back is sore. We’re still a month away from a Halloween, Hollywood edition, but that is some scary stuff right there.

It is with immeasurable grief that we confirm the passing of Chadwick Boseman.⁣ ⁣ Chadwick was diagnosed with stage III colon cancer in 2016, and battled with it these last 4 years as it progressed to stage IV. ⁣ ⁣ A true fighter, Chadwick persevered through it all, and brought you many of the films you have come to love so much. From Marshall to Da 5 Bloods, August Wilson’s Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom and several more, all were filmed during and between countless surgeries and chemotherapy. ⁣ ⁣ It was the honor of his career to bring King T’Challa to life in Black Panther. ⁣ ⁣ He died in his home, with his wife and family by his side. ⁣ ⁣ The family thanks you for your love and prayers, and asks that you continue to respect their privacy during this difficult time. ⁣ ⁣ Photo Credit: @samjonespictures

Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman died at age 43. Unknowing to the public, Chadwick had been battling colon cancer since 2016. Despite his struggling health, Chadwick gave incredible performances and frequently volunteered his time, money and energy to charity. He is a super hero on and off the screen and he will be missed.

Fellow celebrities have spoken out to share memories and tributes. Barack Obama shared a story about Boseman coming to the White House to work with kids when he played Jackie Robinson. “You could tell right away that he was blessed. To be young, gifted, and Black; to use that power to give them heroes to look up to; to do it all while in pain – what a use of his years.”

The Dancing with the Stars cast was announced and it includes Backstreet Boy AJ McLean (the one that wasn’t Nick or Bryan), Tiger King villain Carole Baskin (they were all villains, weren’t they?), cheer coach Monica Aldama, former Bachelorette Kaitlyn Bristowe, rapper Nelly, Catfish creator and star Nev Shulman, and more. I’ve never watched this show in my life but they are reeling me in with this cast (get it? Fishing jokes for Catfish…I’ll let myself out).

Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom welcomed daughter Daisy Dove Bloom at the end of August. Daisy Bloom is too literal for me but as with all celebrity births (and non-celebrity births), I was not consulted. Katy has been getting real on her Instagram, sharing a candid picture on her Instagram story of her pumping, with her postpartum belly on display while rocking some disposable underwear.

Celebrities donned their most couture masks and headed to the Video Music Awards recently. Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande were the most nominated artists and each walked away with several wins. Lady Gaga won Artist of the Year, Best New Artist was awarded to Doja Cat, Best Hip Hop Video went to Meghan Thee Stallion for Savage and I bet you’re doing the Tik Tok dance now. Despite the pandemic, the show was packed with two hours of high energy performances and a ton of crazy outfits. My pandemic evenings are filled with two hours of eating and watching Love Island – who am I kidding, it’s eight hours.

As we head into fall, we have a lot to look forward to! Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik’s baby girl is due in September, Dancing with the Stars starts Sept. 14, and we can stop making banana bread and start making pumpkin everything.
