SYDNEY, N.S. — Singer/songwriter David Francey is back on the road and will be landing in Sydney, May 20, at 8 p.m., where he’ll perform a concert at the Highland Arts Theatre.

Francey is a Scottish-born Canadian carpenter-turned-songwriter who has won the prestigious SOCAN Folk Music Award as well as taking the Grand Prize in both the International Acoustic Music Award and in the folk category for the John Lennon Songwriting Award.

The Shelter Valley Folk Festival says Francey’s songs tell honest stories of real people and real places.

“His songs and stories are a direct connection for audiences seeking depth and meaning in the day-to-day.”

Francey had appeared in Cape Breton several times through the Celtic Colours International Festival and may be best known for his song, “The Ballad of Bowser MacRae.”

Tickets are $30 plus tax with a service fee and $35 plus tax and service fee on the day of the show.
