FIN Atlantic International Film Festival is going 100 per cent virtual this year.

From Sept. 17 – 24, the film festival is switching to an online initiative called FIN AIFF Stream due to public health measures.

“In this most unusual time, FIN is reacting to the uncertainty of the current situation with the well-being of our audience as our main priority,” says Wayne Carter, executive director at FIN, in a news release. “We are fortunate to have the ability to take our festival online this year and in a silver lining situation make the festival easily accessible to movie lovers throughout Atlantic Canada for the first time.”

Films will run on a streaming platform which has capacity limits and anti-piracy measures. An online box office will sell tickets which are good for the duration of the festival.

There will also be social media initiatives, interactive Q&As and panel discussions, say organizers.

The full slate of films will be announced Wednesday, Aug. 19th
