SYDNEY, N.S. — Leslie MacPhee and Lindsay Thompkins, library assistants and program co-ordinators at McConnell Library in Sydney, display some of the popular crafts-to-go takeout bags on offer.
The Cape Breton Regional Library program that began last summer is back in place this month and offers a wide variety of crafts for kids to take to their homes. The program began at the Sydney library but is also available at other libraries across Cape Breton.
The program is the result of sponsorships from Cape Breton credit unions and the Nova Scotia Health Authority. About 500 craft bags have been taken home each month.
