SYDNEY, N.S. — Cape Breton singer-songwriter Colette Deveaux is releasing a new single, “Glad You’re Here,” in advance of her upcoming album, “Honey.”
Inspired by such artists and Leonard Cohen and Greg McPherson, Deveaux uses poetry and infectious melodies to create a memorable sound. Deveaux and her band were the winners of the 2019 Under The Breton Sky Emerging Band contest. Her first single “Honey” was released in 2019 and received airplay from CBC Radio, Sirius XM, Stingray Radio’s East Coast Channel and other stations.
Deveaux’s first album had been initially planned for release in the spring of 2020 but was delayed due to COVID-19 restrictions. It will now be released in December.
The “Glad You’re Here” single is now available for streaming on all the leading streaming platforms and can also be downloaded for purchase at Google Play and Amazon Music.
Deveaux will also stage a live single release on Nov. 6 at 9 p.m. at Daniel’s Alehouse and Eatery in downtown Sydney. It will be Deveaux’s first full band performance of 2020 and will feature special guest performances from other artists like Dylan Devoe, Justin Vallis and Morgan Currie.
