CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — Canadian blues trio and 2018 Juno Award-winners MonkeyJunk will be bringing its high-energy blues show to the Pourhouse this evening in Charlottetown .
Straight out of the gate, MonkeyJunk quickly became one of the most popular new bands on the scene, performing at festivals and packed venues across the country, amassing a large audience of devoted fans.
Winner of 2018’s Juno Award for blues album of the year for “Time To Roll”, it’s the latest from singer/guitarist and harp player Steve Marriner, drummer Matt Sobb and guitarist Tony D.
It's precisely the kind of corker you’d expect from a trio of musical veterans who, between them, have boosted luminaries from Fabulous Thunderbird Kim Wilson to Buddy Guy, the late Jeff Healey to the lamented Stevie Ray Vaughan.
"Don't miss this show if you're a fan of live, blues music," says promoter Pat Deighan. "MonkeyJunk is one of the top live bands around."
The Pourhouse is located above the Old Triangle at 189 Great George St. Tickets are available at trailside.ca, Back Alley Music or call 902-394-3626. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with music starting at 8 p.m.
