CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — A 2020 World Day of Prayer service will be held March 6, 2 p.m. at Zion Presbyterian Church in Charlottetown.
This ministry of the Women's Inter-Church Council of Canada (WICC), brings Christians from more than 170 countries together in prayer for issues that affect women and children.
This year, the service was prepared by the women of Zimbabwe, who share their experiences and concerns. The theme of the service - Rise! Take Your Mat and Walk - was chosen to be a call to act in love for peace and reconciliation.
Members from nine churches of different denominations will be participating in the service.
Refreshments will be served, and offerings collected will be used to provide grants that benefit women touched by injustice around the world.
The storm date for the service is March 8.
