Host Dino Dunsford will welcome Leon Gallant and Krystine Richards to the stage at the Winsloe United Church for a ceilidh on Monday, July 22.
Gallant, a singer-songwriter from Stanley Bridge, plays country, folk with a definite Maritime influence.
A multi-instrumentalist, he writes songs about people, places and life’s stories. His music is kitchen-party style to get the feet tapping. He performs mainly in the summer at local venues such as Avonlea Village and Stanley Bridge Hall. Gallant also plays the fiddle. He has two CDs to his credit.
Richards is a singer who is constantly in demand at weddings, funerals and other functions. The host’s daughter, she is performing based on her talent, not her connections, said Dunsford.
“I know I’m prejudiced but I think she has a beautiful voice,’’ he said.
Dunsford, ever the crowd-pleaser, always gets the audience going with his fine vocals and usually has them singing along to some of their favourite songs. Also on hand will be the house band.
The ceilidh is a fundraiser for the church, which is wheelchair accessible. There is also plenty of parking.
The church is located at 121 Winsloe Rd, next to the Confederation Trail.
Tickets are $10 at the door with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. There will be a light lunch served.
