ELMSDALE, P.E.I. — A Westisle Composite High School global issues team is holding a bottle drive in aid a schoolmate recovering from heart complications.
Nicholas Handrahan said the team wanted to raise money for schoolmate, Jayden Gaudet, and his family to assist with the costs associated with Gaudet’s extended hospital stay in Halifax and his regular medical trips back to Halifax for monitoring.

“We were all really scared (for him),” he said.
McGuigan expressed confidence in Gaudet’s continued improvement.
“He’s his own medicine, fur sure,” he said, suggesting Gaudet’s positive attitude will serve him well in his recovery.
The global issues team of Handrahan, Kloe Wilson, Sarah Hart, Jeannie A’Hearn, Darcy Ellis, Walker Harper and Marley Gaudet will staff three locations on Saturday, Dec. 21, to collect bottles in support of the Gaudet family.
They will be set up between 11 a.m and 2 p.m. at the Tignish and O’Leary co-ops and Holland College in Alberton.
