CORNWALL, P.E.I. — “Sharing our Stories” will be held on Saturday, Nov. 16, one of a series of events planned as West River United Church celebrates 200 years of ministry this year.

This special afternoon is an opportunity for members, adherents and the general public to follow the history of the various incarnations of the emerging United Church in Cornwall and adjacent communities.

Tellers for the event, which runs 2-4 p.m. at the church in Cornwall, are historians Garth MacPhee, front right, and Lawson Drake, back right, here pictured with anniversary committee members Edith Scott, front left, Gloria Fullerton, front centre and Julie Mills as they prepare to share tales from bygone days certain to both inform and entertain.

Fellowship with light snacks and tea will follow in the church hall.

Chief Supt. Kevin Lewis, who was named the new commanding officer of P.E.I. RCMP in January, says his father was a police officer in Thunder Bay, Ont., and told Lewis to join the Mounties for the adventure and a change of scenery. He has since lived in four provinces and two territories.
