CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — A group of LGBTQ2S+ Islanders have come together to organize a fundraiser in support of Clinic 554 which is facing impending closure.
Clinic 554 is a family practice in Fredericton, N.B., that offer care for a wide range of patients across the Maritimes.
The breadth of services includes all scopes of medicine with a focus on reproductive, trans, LGBT/Queer and HIV care.
To build financial and social support for this clinic, a variety show will be held on Saturday, Nov. 9 at Upstreet in Charlottetown at 7 p.m. The show will feature performances from local queer performers and allies along with a silent auction, including items donated by local businesses and artisans and also the kick off to a petition to show support from Islanders.
Doors open at 7 and entrance is by donation.
Proceeds will go directly to Clinic 554, with a portion being donated to MMIWG2S (missing and murdered women, girls and two-spirit people) organizing in solidarity with two-spirit members.
