Music P.E.I.’s Tiny Island Concert Series continues today with live-streamed performances by Brad Milligan (8 p.m. AST) and Scott Parsons (8:30 p.m. AST).
Milligan and his band fuse ’60s, ’70s and ’80s rock and pop to create a sound all their own. Established in 2018, they were recently nominated for two Music P.E.I. awards. The future looks bright for this cast of characters.
Parsons is a multi-disciplinary Island musician who has consistently utilized his accomplishments to enrich both himself and his community. His involvement with theatre, radio, film, and television has sparked an artistic creativity that carries over to his work with disabled and high-priority youth.
Sunday, May 24, will see performances by Maureen Trainor (8 p.m.) and the Atlantic String Machine (8:30 p.m.).
Trainor’s style is most closely aligned with folk, although she draws influence from a variety of genres. With two 2020 Music P.E.I. Award nominations for her debut album, Nothing But the Stars, she enjoys sharing her music with audiences across the Island.
The Atlantic String Machine is a dynamic ensemble of string players who perform as many styles of music as they can fit into their portfolios. They seek out interesting collaborations with other artists and unexpected venues for concerts, as well as write their own arrangements and compositions, keeping their repertoire fresh and alive.
The Tiny Island Concert Series is an initiative in response to COVID-19 and its effects on Island musicians and music industry workers. For more info, check out musicpei.com.
Every Tiny Island Concert is free for the public at Facebook.com/MusicPEI, although donations will be accepted towards the newly-established Music P.E.I. Crisis Relief Fund. This fund will be distributed to P.E.I. artists and music industry professionals in need.
