POOLES CORNER, P.E.I. — The Lady Singers of Our Century will be performing at Kaylee Hall in Three Rivers on Thursday, Oct. 10 at 7:30 p.m.
The group has been filling churches and community halls across the province for the last four years with a mix of country and traditional music.
The show includes songs made popular by Loretta Lynn, Dolly Parton, Patsy Cline, Reba McEntire, Anne Murray, Patti Loveless and Rita MacNeil.
Hosts Joan Reeves and Judy McGregor, also known as the Bell Sisters, Ding and Dong, will be singing songs by Murray and Loveless. They have also put together some stories of their days working at Island Tel, as well as cruise they just returned from.
Jolee Patkai, also a member of Treble With Girls, will be presenting the music of her two favourite female country artists, Lynn and Parton.
Jacinta MacDonald, the newest member to the group, will present the music of two of her favourite female singers, Cline and McEntire.
Colleen MacPhee will perform the music of her all-time favourite female singer, MacNeil. She also hosts one of the monthly ceilidhs at Winsloe United Church.
There will be a 50/50 draw as well as canteen service. Admission is at the door, which opens at 6:30 p.m.
The Lady Singers of Our Century have also been invited to perform at the 30th anniversary of the Anne Murray Centre in Springhill, N.S., on Sunday, Oct. 6.
